Please read this agreement carefully before you submit your film. By submitting your film, you expressly acknowledge and agree that you shall be bound by the terms of this agreement.
1) All films must have been completed no earlier than January 1, 2020.
1a) All submissions MUST NOT have Streaming distribution in the US and her territories.
1b) All submissions MUST be able to satisfy the Deliverable requirements within 7 days of notification of winning the competition (Please see list of deliverables).
2) Deliverable requirements:
* Film must be in English or have English subtitles
* Film must have a CC (Closed Caption File)
* One Quicktime (.mov) ProRes 4444 or ProRes 422 HQ in 16:9 Aspect Ratio - 1080p
resolution, 23.98 fps uncompressed PCM. Audio must be provided in 5.1 surround sound , if not stereo is acceptable.
PLEASE NOTE: MOVIVUE will have final approval over sound mix, color and general video quality (based on industry standards). If presented deliverable video/sound files do not meet MOVIVUE’s minimum quality standards, MOVIVUE retains the right to require filmmaker/s to cure any and all deliverables quality issues at their own expense and within a reasonable time frame to meet all deadline obligations or MOVIVUE can deny distribution/streaming.

Minimum of 50 production stills at a DPI of 300 or greater.
Poster (Layered Artwork as a digital file)

Three trailers for the movie 30, 60 & 90 second versions (approximate timing is acceptable)
Each version in Quicktime (.mov) ProRes 422 HQ 1920x1080 resolution, 23.98 fps uncompressed PCM Audio must be provided in 5.1 surround sound , if not stereo is acceptable.
Social media handles for the movie, and all ATL (above the line) personnel

PLEASE NOTE: MOVIVUE must have final approval of all posters and trailers. If posters or trailers do not meet the approval of MOVIVUE, filmmaker/s may be required to recut a new trailer or design and produce a new poster based on MOVIVUE’s requirements.
3) Films must be submitted via online screener - we do not accept hardcopies of DVDs
4) If the submitted film has distribution in any foreign territory(s), the filmmaker must note which territory(s) in the cover letter of the application so MoviVue can Geo block said territory as to not infringe upon any contractual obligations.
5) Submission fees are in U.S. dollars, per film entry. All submissions for THE FIRST FRIGHT COMPETITION are currently to be paid by check, PayPal or Zelle. The submission fee is non-refundable.
6) Submitting filmmakers/individuals will be notified by e-mail on or before August 12th, 2024. THE FIRST FRIGHT COMPETITION does not send physical mail — please make sure the email address in your entry form is accurate. Changes of email address can be sent to info@fearsmag.com. FEARSmag, MoviVue, Wealth Of Geeks & THE FIRST FRIGHT COMPETITION are not liable for emails delayed by spam filters, server rejections, outdated email addresses or any other technical or human error.
7) If a WINNING filmmaker is unable to satisfy the required deliverables by the agreed upon deadline, they will forfeit their Prize, and it will fall to the runner up.
8) A filmmaker with multiple entries (titles) must submit each entry and entry fee separately.
9) THE FIRST FRIGHT COMPETITION reserves the right to disqualify a film for any reason or for no reason and shall not be liable for any refund or claims of any kind arising out of such removal.
10) The submitting filmmaker must own the copyright to the work. In the case of any legal dispute involving the film, FEARSmag, MoviVue, Wealth Of Geeks & THE FIRST FRIGHT COMPETITION will immediately remove the work from the platform.
11) By submitting your film, FEARSmag, MoviVue, Wealth Of Geeks & THE FIRST FRIGHT COMPETITION is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for distribution on the platform for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
12) You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FEARSmag, MoviVue, Wealth Of Geeks & THE FIRST FRIGHT COMPETITION from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
