El FICC es un festival completamente independiente, dedicado a promover el nuevo cine independiente internacional, tanto de jóvenes creadores como de veteranos, con especial atención a la producción del cine creado en California, en ambos lados de la frontera. Queremos aportar nuestro granito de arena a promover y dar visibilidad a nuevos proyectos, ya sea en idioma español, inglés o chicano.

El festival se lleva a cabo en 4 centros culturales colaboradores, ubicados en California, dos del lado mexicano (Tijuana) y dos del lado de Estados Unidos, (San Diego y Los Angeles).

La celebración de apertura del Festival se realizará cada 13 de mayo en Tijuana, México, con la entrega del premio a mejor película, la cual proyectaremos, entregando el premio al director. En posteriores eventos habrá proyección de las películas ganadoras, finalistas y algunas de la selección oficial, que tendrán lugar en los centros culturales colaboradores, en distintas fechas repartidas desde mayo hasta Agosto, siendo cada evento distinto a los demás y de entrada libre. Las fechas serán anunciadas en nuestras redes sociales.

The FICC is a completely independent festival dedicated to promoting new international independent cinema, from both emerging and established filmmakers, with a special focus on films produced in California, on both sides of the border. We want to do our part to promote and give visibility to new projects, whether in Spanish, English, or Chicano.

The festival takes place in four partner cultural centers located in California: two on the Mexican side (Tijuana) and two on the U.S. side (San Diego and Los Angeles).

The Festival's opening celebration will take place on May 13th in Tijuana, Mexico, with the presentation of the Best Film award, which we will screen, and the award will be given to the director. Subsequent events will feature screenings of the winning films, finalists, and some from the official selection. These screenings will be held at participating cultural centers on various dates between May and August, each event being unique and free of charge. Dates will be announced on our social media channels.

ESPAÑOL
Nuestro festival no impone ninguna regla respecto a las películas. Son bienvenidos todos los trabajos de cineastas independientes de todo el mundo, en calquier idioma, siempre que tengan SUBTÍTULOS EN INGLÉS O ESPAÑOL (o ambos). Si la película está en español, solo necesitará SUBTÍTULOS EN INGLÉS y viceversa. Puede participar cualquier film, sin importar que haya sido presentado o proyectado en otros festivales. El único requisito al respecto es que nunca haya sido publicado en ninguna plataforma digital.

DE CALIFORNIA
Las peliculas de California, deben estar realizadas en California y tener una temática relacionada con lo que sucede en este estado, en cualquiera de los dos lados de la frontera. Se valorará que las personas que hayan realizado el film sean residentes en California.

Para poder proyectar de forma gratuita las películas ganadoras, finalistas o de selección oficial en en los 4 centros que colaboran con nostros en este proyecto, los participanten tendrán que proporcionar un permiso escrito.

IMPORTANTE
Participar en el festival, inscribir la película o el hecho de ser parte de la Selección Oficial, no implica necesariamente que dicha película vaya a ser programada en los eventos de proyeccion. Aunque nos gustaría, no podemos proyectar todas las películas recividas. Las producciones que vayan a ser proyectadas, serán notificadas de manera individual.

ENGLISH
Our festival has no rules regarding films. All works by independent filmmakers from around the world are welcome, in any language, as long as they have subtitles in English or Spanish (or both). If the film is in Spanish, it will only need English subtitles, and vice versa. Any film can participate, regardless of whether it has been presented or screened at other festivals. The only requirement is that it has never been published on any digital platform.

FROM CALIFORNIA
Films from California must be made in California and have a theme related to events in the state, on either side of the border. Preference will be given to films made by California residents.

In order to screen the winning, finalist or official selection films free of charge in the 4 centers that collaborate with us on this project, participants will have to provide written permission.

IMPORTANT
Participating in the festival, submitting a film, or being part of the Official Selection does not necessarily guarantee that the film will be screened. While we would like to, we cannot screen all submitted films. Films selected for screening will be notified individually.
