FECIBogota - 4th International Independent Film Fair of Bogotá

FECIBogotá was founded with the intention to integrate, in a single space, different players in the audiovisual environment. The exhibition seeks to promote independent productions, as well as their creators, producers, and purveyors. FECIBogotá aims to highlight creative, aesthetic and narrative audiovisual works not typically found in conventional circuits; works that revitalize the medium with their authenticity, expressive power and thoughtful content.

FECIBogotá, 4th International Independent Film Fair of Bogotá, serves as a platform to recognize and publicize the numerous audiovisual sectors not only of Bogotá, but the world. FECIBogotá is the first exhibiton of its kind, in which all independent-minded members of the audiovisual world - publishers, collectors, critics, producers, distributers, equipment operators, viewers converge in a film festival and workshops.

The awards are announced only after selecting participants shortfilms. We are concerned that filmmakers participants in this competition, do it for the pure intention of sharing their independent work with the world's not for financial reward.

We were fortunate enough to have our Film "Los Mambises" selected to be screened at FECIBogota. Our experience was stellar from the very first communication we received about the translation of our film right through to being selected. Had the expenses to travel to Bogota been more economical we would have traveled there to be a part of the festival. We found our film listed on their website in a very attractive official program. Have to say we were impressed with their total week long film selections. Thank you FECIBogota for the opportunity to have our film screened in your fine city.

I had the opportunity to assist to the screening of my film at this festival. The venues are nice and classic, located in the old town part of Bogotá.
Not a lot of people assisted to the screening, but the tickets were very cheap and the building clean and decorated like a 1950s theater.
The selection of the films screened was varied and widely international.
Initially the director of the festival told me by e-mail there were going to be a couple of events for the filmmakers to meet and greet, but he stopped replying when I asked when and where these events would take place.
I had to buy a ticket to see my own film and never heard from the festival again.
