The 9th Espacio Queer Film Fest takes place in the city of La Plata, during June 2023. The festival is a platform for showing independent film that has topics related to sexual and gender diversity, bringing to the audience diferent proposals and new points of views on the screen.
The Festival was created as a place for communication and debate, where you can critically think on various subject as sexual identities, culture and society in different contexts and realities. The festival will focus on films that expose a queer perspective, where identity is thought of as a constant construction, with no established parameters, and where the sexuality is expressed in everything we think, feel and do.

- National Competition of Short films (only for Argentine productions)

SUBMIT AND SENDING OF WORKS
The call is open to all film makers over 18 years old.
International films may participate in the Short Film Competition if they have a leght of no more than 25 (twenty five) minutes and if they have been made after January 1, 2021.
International films may participate in the Feature Film Competition if they have a leght of more than 40 (fourty) minutes and if they have been made after January 1, 2021.
To participate in the Festival, international filmmakers must complete the registration on FilmFreeway.
The reception of the material will be until April 17, 2023.
SELECTED WORKS
Once selected, participants must send a file in Quicktime format 1920x1080 at 25 fps (h264 codec, ProRes, DNxHD). Films that are not Spanish-speaking, should be subtitled in Spanish compulsorily (subtitles pasted on the image preferably).
The sending of the material shall be made within 20 (twenty) days from notification of selection, and it can be made by digital plataforms such as Drive, Wetransfer, etc.
All works submitted will be part of the video library of the Festival, with the possibility of being projected in the future on special functions or itinerant exhibitions of Espacio Queer´s activities. In case of projection, it will be required a prior approval of the responsible of the film, knowing that no compensation can be demanded for the exhibition of the film.
All activities organized by Espacio Queer are made open, free of charge and with non-profit proposes. The selection of works will be informed by private notification by telephone and/or e-mail and then publicated on the web.
The mere fact of participating in this call for entry implies knowledge and acceptance of these Terms and Regulations.
JURY
The jury in charge of competition will consist of suitable personalities in the audiovisual field, who will be in charge of choosing the winning films. Among them there will be: filmmakers, journalists, LGTBI activists, teachers, critics, writers and other personalities. Jury's votes will be secret.
The committee members agree not to publicly express their opinions of the films submitted for consideration before the official announcement of the prize. The decision of the jury is final.

PROJECTION RIGHTS
By registering, these Terms and Conditions and the transfer of rights of projection of the material presented to the effects of diffusion in this edition of the Festival is considered accepted. The participants authorize the Festival so that, without any compensation and / or payment, it can make public disclosure of their names and / or voices and / or images in any media for promoting the exhibition of the film within the Festival.
The actual registration to the festival presupposes the acceptance of the virtual or live screening of the short film presented.
The participants declare to have all the rights involved in the film, leaving the Festival harmless for any claims of ownership of the work and / or lack of authorization to the rights contained therein.
