Deep in the suburbs of Oakville, Ontario, Eric's Backyard Film Festival is the most fantastic night of short films, music, and art. Originally, started in a backyard and is now in a public park in Oakville. The event is a youth-led, volunteer-run initiative that showcases the talent of local Greater Toronto Area filmmakers.

We celebrate the weirdness of the suburbs and are looking for any film that relates to that in any shape or form. As we only have a single short showcase night, we specialize in a carnival-style variety of content.

Rules & Terms

SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES:
-Max 20-minute Film per submission

-One filmmaker can submit up to 2 films.

-Any and all people can submit whatever they want. We are biased towards alternative and experimental films. (Anything weird) Who also share an affinity with the Greater Toronto Area.

-Preference is given to films that are local to the Greater Toronto Area and can attend in person.

    Great vibe at Eric's Backyard which has since moved out of his backyard to a park grounds due to scale. Lots of passion & community building. Thank you for having my films two years in a row <3
