REGLAMENTO Y BASES DE LA CONVOCATORIA
28° FESTIVAL UNIVERSITARIO DE CINE Y AUDIOVISUALES EQUINOXIO
– SECCIONES DE LA CONVOCATORIA
La convocatoria está abierta a obras audiovisuales colombianas, latinoamericanas e internacionales, con una duración máxima de 30 minutos, sin limitaciones de género cinematográfico ni técnica empleada. Podrán participar estudiantes de pregrado, posgrado, docentes y egresados de instituciones universitarias y procesos de formación alternativos. Organizándose en:
Cortometraje Nacional: En Formación
Cortometraje Nacional: Universidad Nacional de Colombia
Cortometraje Nacional: Trabajo de grado
Nacional: Egresados y docentes (única categoría que recibe largometrajes)
Cortometraje Latinoamericano: Estudiantes
Cortometraje Latinoamericano: Egresados y Docentes
Cortometraje Internacional: Estudiantes
Cortometraje Internacional: Egresados y Docentes
– ELEGIBILIDAD
La convocatoria está abierta tanto a películas colombianas como internacionales en las respectivas categorías. No se podrán presentar cortometrajes con fecha de producción anterior al 1 de enero de 2025. En todas las categorías es necesario estar en la capacidad de acreditar su vínculo vigente (o pasado, en el caso de egresados) a una entidad de educación superior.
5 – INSCRIPCIÓN
La inscripción de películas al Festival es de carácter gratuito para obras colombianas y latinoamericanas. Para obras cuyo lugar de origen sea exterior a Latinoamérica hay un cobro simbólico de $1 USD. La inscripción se realiza por medio de la plataforma Festhome. La convocatoria abre el día 16 de febrero de 2026. Todas las convocatorias cierran el 30 de abril del mismo año.
La inscripción debe ser realizada por el director/productor del filme y debe contener: archivo de visualización de la película, sinopsis corta, ficha y especificaciones técnicas, ficha artística, foto y bio-filmografía del director, poster, stills en alta calidad, un documento de acredite el vinculo con la institución académica de parte del director/productor y la información de redes sociales de la obra y de los realizadores. En caso de que la película no sea hablada en español, se debe anexar también el subtitulado en este idioma; en caso de no contar con ellos, se requerirá una lista de diálogos en inglés con timecodes y un archivo digital en alta calidad para añadir el subtitulado.
– SELECCIÓN Y PARTICIPACIÓN
Luego de la fecha de notificación de la selección, ninguna película podrá ser retirada del Festival. Los participantes cuyos trabajos hayan sido seleccionados en cualquiera de las categorías se comprometen a facilitar cualquier material extra solicitado por el Festival.
En caso de considerarlo pertinente, el Festival podrá reasignar de categoría a las obras seleccionadas, así como modificar apartes del reglamento y la convocatoria.
El Festival no se compromete a correr con los gastos de traslado, viáticos o estadía de los concursantes. El concursante deberá tramitar sus gastos con su respectiva universidad, o, correr él mismo con sus gastos para participar de las actividades programadas en el Festival. La Escuela de Cine y Televisión de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia y el Festival Equinoxio podrán proporcionar una carta de invitación en caso de ser solicitada.
El participante autoriza al Festival Universitario de Cine y Audiovisuales Equinoxio a utilizar máximo 3 minutos de material visual para fines de promoción. Así mismo, concede los derechos de exhibición al Festival para la proyección de su obra durante los días de realización de este y en muestras no competitivas en Festivales Nacionales e Internacionales aliados de Equinoxio.
El participante declara al realizar su inscripción que es propietario de todos los derechos del trabajo inscrito, de sus archivos sonoros, musicales y/o visuales, y exonera a la Organización del Festival, a la Escuela de Cine y Televisión y a la Universidad Nacional de Colombia de cualquier reclamación que puedan hacer terceros sobre la exhibición pública, la propiedad intelectual o patrimonial de los mismos. El participante libera a la organización del Festival, a la Escuela de Cine y Televisión y a la Universidad Nacional de Colombia de cualquier tipo de reclamación o demanda.
La presentación de la obra al Festival Universitario de Cine y Audiovisuales Equinoxio supone la aceptación de las bases de la convocatoria y del presente reglamento en su totalidad. Con su inscripción, el participante así lo declara.

RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR THE CALL FOR ENTRIES
28th EQUINOXIO UNIVERSITY FILM AND AUDIOVISUAL FESTIVAL
– CALL FOR ENTRIES SECTIONS
The call for entries is open to Colombian, Latin American, and international audiovisual works with a maximum duration of 30 minutes, without limitations on film genre or technique. Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and alumni of universities and alternative training programs are eligible to participate. Organized into:
National Short Film: In Training
National Short Film: National University of Colombia
National Short Film: Graduation Project
National: Graduates and Faculty (only category accepting feature films)
Latin American Short Film: Students
Latin American Short Film: Graduates and Faculty
International Short Film: Students
International Short Film: Graduates and Faculty
– ELIGIBILITY
The call for entries is open to both Colombian and international films in the respective categories. Short films with a production date prior to January 1, 2025, are not eligible. In all categories, applicants must be able to demonstrate their current (or past, in the case of graduates) affiliation with a higher education institution.
5 – REGISTRATION
Film submissions to the Festival are free for Colombian and Latin American works. For works originating outside of Latin America, there is a nominal fee of $1 USD. Registration is done through the Festhome platform. The call for entries opens on February 16, 2026. All submissions close on April 30 of the same year.
Registration must be completed by the film's director/producer and must include: a viewing file of the film, a short synopsis, technical specifications and details, cast and crew information, a photo and filmography of the director, a poster, high-quality stills, a document certifying the director/producer's affiliation with the academic institution, and social media information for the film and the filmmakers. If the film is not in Spanish, Spanish subtitles must also be included; if Spanish subtitles are unavailable, a list of English dialogues with timecodes and a high-quality digital file for adding subtitles will be required.
– SELECTION AND PARTICIPATION
After the selection notification date, no film may be withdrawn from the Festival. Participants whose works are selected in any category agree to provide any additional materials requested by the Festival.
If deemed necessary, the Festival may reassign selected works to a different category, as well as modify sections of the regulations and the call for entries.
The Festival is not responsible for covering travel, per diem, or accommodation expenses for participants. Participants must arrange their own expenses with their respective university or cover their own costs to participate in the Festival's scheduled activities. The Film and Television School of the National University of Colombia and the Equinoxio Festival may provide an invitation letter upon request.
Participants authorize the Equinoxio University Film and Audiovisual Festival to use a maximum of 3 minutes of visual material for promotional purposes. They also grant the Festival the right to screen their work during the Festival and in non-competitive screenings at national and international festivals affiliated with Equinoxio.
By registering, the participant declares that they own all rights to the submitted work, including its sound, music, and/or visual files, and releases the Festival Organization, the Film and Television School, and the National University of Colombia from any claims that third parties may make regarding the public exhibition, intellectual property, or patrimonial rights thereof. The participant releases the Festival Organization, the Film and Television School, and the National University of Colombia from any and all claims or demands.
Submitting a work to the Equinoxio University Film and Audiovisual Festival implies full acceptance of the competition rules and these regulations. By registering, the participant declares this acceptance.
