The Endimaris Sitges LGBTQ+ Film Festival is a cultural event that celebrates and promotes sexual and gender diversity through film. This festival takes place annually in the city of Sitges, known for its inclusive atmosphere and commitment to the LGBTQ+ community. During the festival, a variety of films, from feature films to short films, are screened, addressing themes related to the LGBTQ+ community. In addition to the screenings, the festival organizes parallel activities such as debates, workshops, and meetings with filmmakers, fostering dialogue and reflection on the representation and rights of LGBTQ+ people. The Endimaris Sitges LGBTQ+ Film Festival has established itself as a benchmark in the cultural sphere, offering a platform for the visibility and celebration of diversity.

Why Endimaris?

“Endimari” is a Catalan expression, originating in the region of Garraf, which means: “Useless person or thing or thing that gets in the way; junk, useless utensil.” This expression perfectly describes how society in general has treated LGBTQ+ people throughout history. Following the queer community's virtue of overturning concepts initially used pejoratively against them, the use of the word “Endimaris” in this regard is more than ideal.
