Biography of Emal Zaki, Co-founder and President of Karora Production.
Emal Zaki, son of Mohmmad Alam, was born on March 16, 1983 in the 8th district of Kart-e-naw – Kabul city.
Mr. Zaki graduated from Abdul Rahman Pajhwok high school in 2004 and received his bachelor’s degree in international political science from Avicenna University in 2020.
Mr. Zaki entered the world of cinema in 2005 and took short courses in film editing, film directing, film producing. He plaid roles as a main characters in most films, series drama and also he edited, video graphed the most films.
Mr. Zaki due to his interest in press work, in 2013 he created a weekly print news that called “Afghanistan Politicians Weekly” with his own privilege and responsible director within the framework of the ministry of information and culture. And Mr. Zaki started publishing his press work through this weekly.
In addition his artistic and press activities, Mr. Zaki entered to politics and in the presidential and provincial council elections in 2014, he was elected as an independent candidate for the Kabul Provincial council, and as a result, he was able to got 1,100 votes from Kabul city and register it to IEC.
In 2017, Mr. Zaki registered and official company under the title of “KARORA PRODUCTION” by himself as a Co-founder and President within the framework of the ministry of information and culture for production of films, series drama, and documentaries. Mr. Zaki produced most of the documentaries for the ministry of defense, the ministry of interior and the ministry of education.
Work experience:
“Special Force” documentary, it’s about special force school of ministry of defense. I acted as produce and project managing director, the documentary implemented through ministry of defense and Karora production in 2020.
“Special women” documentary, it’s about General Commander Police Special Units “GCPSU” Women empowering. I acted as a producer and project managing director, the documentary funded by British Embassy Kabul and implemented by ministry of interior in 2019.
"Videographer/photography project" Work as a Videographer and photographer and project managing director in UNOPS/UNMAS of Afghanistan for the project of the United Nations mine action service, Videography and photography for 34 provinces of Afghanistan, in 14 deferent locations. 2018.
"Commissar Amanullah" series drama, it’s about empowering and Supporting Afghan National Police “ANP” mobile cinema campaigning through 22 provinces of Afghanistan, work as a project manager and Videographer and photographer of the project, the project was funded by German Foreign affairs and implemented by German development agency “GIZ”, European Union Police Mission in Afghanistan “EUPOL”, and Saba Film Production Company “SFPC”. 2014
"Commissar Amanullah" Series drama, it’s a about empowering and supporting Afghan National Police “ANP” I work as a main character, production manager, producer, (Lengths: 40 episodes, each episode 24, total 960 min). The project was funded by German Foreign affairs and implemented by German development agency “GIZ”, European Union Police Mission in Afghanistan “EUPOL”, and Saba Film Production Company “SFPC”. 2012-2013.
"Barg Hai Sabzi Khzan" Series drama, it’s about empowering women’s right in Afghanistan, I work as a main character, production manager, producer and in same parts as photographer (Lengths: 15 episodes each episode 24, total 360 min). The project funded by US Embassy Kabul. 2011.
"Kabul dream factory" German documentary, work as supporting main characters and production manager in Afghanistan (Lengths: 78 min). The project was from German filmmakers all the rights belong to them. 2010.
“Tani man Watani Man” Action Film, the film was empowering and supporting Afghan National Army “ANA” I work as director of photography and Video editor (Lengths: 120 min). The project funded through Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan “CSTC-A” 2007-2008.
“Sawgand” A action Film, it’s about empowering and supporting Afghan National Police “ANP” work as a main character, and video editor (Lengths: 120 min). The project funded through Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan “CSTC-A” 2006-2007.
“Nejat” action Film work as a director of photography and Video editor (Lengths: 120 min). It’s about empowering Afghan national police women. The Project funded by German Development Agency “GIZ” 2005.
