Biography of Abbass Mohammadi
Abbass Mohammadi was born in Mazar- e- sharif in 1976. After the start of the war in Afghanistan along with his family, he emigrated to Iran and spent the school term in Iran, attends the Iranian youth cinema at the same time as the lecture school, and participates in special courses held at the centre. And in this centre receive documents from photographic and filming and he began the film production in this centre. At the end of this period, he creates a film called (face to face mirrors) which was attended by many internal festivals in Iran and foreign festivals such as the United Nations festival in Austria. After receiving a certificate of twelve pass, he participates in a special documentation period that held by centre of development documentary cinema and experimental documentation of Iranian cinema and at the end of the specialized documentation period, he produces a film called (the Last Teachers Teaching). And has received degree in documentation from these centres. (The last teachers teaching) film was present at the Shahid Avini Festival of Iran, which was the best documentary in Iran, and receive appreciation. And after that, he made a film by the name of (my little homeland) and, at the same time he has been participated in the National kankor examination of Iran and has been admitted to the field of film directing. And the film (my little homeland) was compiled in the first year of the bachelor’s degree and will be sent to various festivals. The film has been present at the various festivals such as Iran’s truth cinema, Tehran’s short film, Busan south Korea and (UCLA) of America, and won four award in the truth cinema festival and at the student festival has been received first degree. Abbas Mohammedi, at the bachelor period produce another documentary film in the name of (Gray Gori Church), which won the first degree in the historical film festival. After completing the four year course at the university, he receives bachelor’s degree in directing cinema. Without interruption, he entered in master degree, in the master’s degree, he produces a film called (coercion), and after completing master course, he received a master’s degree in cinema filming from Tehran university, returned to Afghanistan and taught at the university. In the first year of his arrival in Afghanistan, he published an article about the ideology of the cinema in the book of the year of the Avanca festival in Portuqal country. And after that, he made a film called (two – edged game). During his existence years in Afghanistan, besides teaching at university he made a film called (Mobile Library) which he won the special award at the Asia Dramatic TV in Tokyo Dax Japan festival, and currently along with teaching at the university he making a film called (kindness call).
