Elijah Rodriguez is an American film director, producer, writer, and actor. A native of New York City, Rodriguez made his directorial and acting debut with the 2017 short film Broken Window—a gritty, emotionally charged narrative inspired by events from his father’s life. That same year, Rodriguez wrote, directed, and produced his first feature-length film, Crossroads, marking a significant milestone in his early career. His short films have since been screened at multiple film festivals, gaining attention for their grounded storytelling and cinematic edge. In addition to narrative filmmaking, he has also directed music videos for renowned artists including Toby Love, Max Santos of Aventura, and Jim Jones of Dipset—further establishing his versatility behind the camera.
Rodriguez’s passion for filmmaking began in high school while working part-time at a local movie theatre. He started screenwriting in 2015 while pursuing a Master of Public Administration at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Influenced by cinematic icons such as Alfred Hitchcock, Brian De Palma, Christopher Nolan, and Martin Scorsese, Rodriguez brings a suspenseful, character-driven style to his work.
His first feature film is currently available on Amazon Prime, and he continues to develop projects that elevate underrepresented voices and reflect the complexity of urban life. With a distinct voice and a commitment to visual storytelling, Elijah Rodriguez is a filmmaker to watch.
