Eldoret Film Festival was established in the year 2018 to promote and celebrate excellence in Kenyan film making through its various programmes including organizing an annual film awards' ceremony; providing film agency and consultancy services, engaging in film production, distribution and exhibition services; and other outreach and social activities geared towards creating an economically viable and sustainable art ecosystem for the benefit of artists in the region.

Trophies

Eligible films for the festival are those produced in Kenya from September of a previous year to end of August of the present year. Eligible films for our 5th Edition 2022 are those films produced in Kenya from September 2021 to End of August 2022. We receive short films for our regular category and feature length films under our special category.
For its 5th Edition, films made by high schools will be eligible to compete under the High School Film Club Category of the Competition. Films entered in the ordinary category shall be eligible for our travelling cinema screenings in different shopping centers across counties in Western Kenya.
