ElderHall Texas Independent Film Festival is open to all genres of film from around the globe. However, since we are in the great state of Texas separate categories are available for films made in Texas and for shorts and features within the Western genre. Our live screenings and award ceremony will be held at the amazing Pine Moore Old West Studio in the historic town of Blanco, Texas. Walk the same streets that the cowboys of the old west walked and see your film shown at Pine Moore Old West Studios, home to many westerns and the largest collection of horse drawn carriages this side of the Mississippi!!

URGENT NOTICE: the plan was to hold our viewing and awards ceremony live this year but the continuing rise in deaths in our area from the new variants has caused our legal team to advise that the awards ceremony be handled online again this year. Finalists will be notified of their inclusion and link will be provided for the award ceremony. While we regret the change, everyone’s health and safety must take precedence.

Filmmakers whose films are chosen for the live screenings and finals will have the option of attending two days of screenings culminating in our awards ceremony which includes a Texas style BBQ. Winners will receive a certificate and medallion as well as our official laurel for their win. Our festival will be a great place for filmmakers to collaborate with other Independent filmmakers as well as experienced veterans who have made Pine Moore Old West Studio their home. Awards ceremony will include a best of festival as well as Best of the West for our Western genre filmmakers with very special prizes! Arrangements will be made for discounted boarding in Blanco, Texas for all filmmakers attending. For those flying in Blanco is just under an hour drive from either Austin or San Antonio airports.

  • Our film was put in the wrong category at the live broadcast 2020 awards ceremony. The film director offered to refund our submission fee, but never followed through.

This is their second year hosting this festival and the experience of having been officially selected for this festival has been wonderful. Just when you think social distancing was going to ruin the festival, Elder and Hall put together a great online festival and awards event. Awesome! Thank you!

  • Lovely independent film festival. My only regret is that the pandemic prevented me from attending, but they had a fun and well-put-together awards ceremony via Zoom, which was great. It was a pleasure to have been selected, and I would happily recommend the festival to anyone.
