Scam. I entered for 2024. Don't read if you want to stay in scammer fantasy land.

No valid website. They say it's under maintenance. Check the address, it is for sale.

Their Google street maps view shows a tattoo parlor.

Their changed their purported "venue" to the Constitutional Court of South Africa, after I emailed my questions and concerns. Unfortunately, that's how scammers improve their look, from questioning people.

    The Instagram has 2 likes.

In response to my emailed concerns they sent me a follow-up email to inquires also about attending the increasingly obvious scam, to calm my concerns and also trying to appeal to my non-existent greed. They wrote they were in the process of negotiating a deal the SF dept of education to charge public school students to show the film festival films, resulting in $300 USD per screening per film.

    Atop this ridiculousness, it continues.

I emailed saying I wasn't going to attend, after all.

Then, 9 days later an emailed, no explanation, but the "festival", which only consists of their bank account and internet-written words, announced they were canceling 2024 "festival".

After the cancelation of the 2024 festival, a new review (December 2024) appeared on Film Freeway, praising panels, discussions, workshops and how awesome EIFF is. Don't know the connection of the purported review, but it's B.S.

The cancelation of the fake event was 21 Dec 2024.

Then the fake, yet great review was posted on Film Freeway.

On 2 Jan 2025, a new email appeal announcement to pay an entry fee and enter their fake, 2025 film festival scam.
