EXCHANGE Choreography Festival
We are currently seeking submissions for inclusion in the 2020 ONLINE Exchange Choreography Festival in Tulsa, OK. The Festival is a curated set of modern dance choreographic works that is moving ONLINE.
Completed Work
Submissions in this category should take the form of video of a completed work of choreography (15 minutes maximum). We realize that obtaining clean video in performance spaces may currently be impossible, so we invite you to get creative in presenting your work for the camera. EXCHANGE 2020 will have NO live performance component; the video you send in is what will be considered and screened. Please send exactly what you want to be viewed by festival attendees and presenting artists.
Interrupted Work
Submissions in this category should take the form of a process video (15 minutes maximum), including rehearsal footage of work in development that was interrupted by the pandemic, along with discussion from choreographer, performers, and collaborators about how your practice has changed, how the work has changed … how YOU have changed, as artists disrupted in the middle of a generative process. EXCHANGE 2020 will have NO live performance component; the video you send in is what will be considered and screened. Please send exactly what you want to be viewed by festival attendees and presenting artists.
Dance for Camera
Submissions in this category should take the form of a screendance video (15 minutes maximum). Dance films that are dynamic short films (under 15 min.) that focus on the process of dance-making; that use movement as a medium for story-telling or visual spectacle will be considered. Exchange is looking for choreography of designed movement of the body and camera. Films can be documentary style or abstracted to highlight specific aspects or processes of dance-making and choreograph.
EXCHANGE prefers digital submissions in a high-quality .MOV or .MP4 file. You can transfer files easily via Vimeo, Dropbox or WeTransfer. Email: bellhouseart@gmail.com
We will not accept physical DVDs or other formats.
Submission deadline is June 10th, 2020.
