The Festival is Turkey's first and only environmentally themed short film event.
This year, 19 th, will be held on 2022.
The festival is based in Istanbul, but it will have short programs in various cities between these dates.. In addition, it will also perform in some universities all around Turkey
All activities performed in the festival are open to everyone and free of charge.
The festival incloud;
- Screening pandemic themed, documentary, fiction,and animation,short films from all over the World
- At the national level, pandemic-themed short film competition,
- Festival workshops,
- Film screenings and lectures at universities in Turkey,
- Environment and pandemic-themed painting, photography, cartoon exhibitions,
- Music Recitals,
- Movie artists and scientists will participate panel discussions and interviews,
- Award ceremony

This year, the theme of the festival is the pandemic.
Films from around the world about the pandemic, maximum 20 minutes, in the genres of fiction, documentary and animation will be accepted.

Rules & Terms

1. Festival is open to any independent filmmaker worldwide.
2. All the short films; fiction,documentary or animation, directly or indirectly related to pandemic theme can submit the festival.
3. Short films should be in English subtitle, MPEG format. (Sent copies should be available to be opened in any media otherwise they will be disqualified )
4. Festival participation form should be sent with the film. Cilck to http://www.environmentalshortfilmfestival.com/index.php/en/apform
5. Films are of a total running time of 20 minutes or less
6. A filmmaker can submit more than 1 film
7. Films can be participated to any other festivals before
8. You may upload your film on internet, up to 2 GB in size and share the link.
9. All the screened films will take place on catalog and web site of the festival
10. Film directors will be given a certificate of attendance of the festival
11. The deadline is 1st March 2022
12. International participation is for film screening purposes only. Does not include competition.

    There was no way to find out when and where the festival was. Now, months later, I see the names of the selected videos, and unfortunately I notice that the vast majority are by directors and very few female directors. There is total machismo, and very little information.
