Awards & Prizes

At ENIFF, we celebrate the most creative and compelling independent films from around the world. Our annual festival honors excellence in filmmaking, with awards across multiple categories, including Narrative Feature, Narrative Short, Documentary (Feature & Short), Animation, Acting, Directing, Experimental, and Cinematography.

In addition to these, our esteemed jury presents a Special Jury Award, recognizing outstanding films that push creative boundaries beyond traditional categories.

All submitted films are automatically considered for awards, and winners are announced during our highly anticipated Closing & Awards Ceremony.

Filmmakers outside Nigeria: Winners who wish to receive their award plaque by mail will be responsible for shipping costs.

Rules & Terms

Submission Rules & Guidelines
To ensure a smooth submission process, please take note of the following:

✅ Submission Deadline: August 31, 2025.
✅ Platform: All entries must be submitted via FilmFreeway. A complete press kit is encouraged.
✅ Eligibility: Films must be produced from January 2023 onward, and you must own or have the rights to the submitted work.

General Guidelines
1. Language: Films in foreign languages must include English subtitles.

2. Multiple Entries: You may submit more than one film in the same category.

3. Female Filmmakers: We prioritise submissions from female filmmakers, but all entries must comply with festival guidelines.

4. Category Adjustments: At our discretion, films may be reclassified into the appropriate category.

5. Selection Process: Submission does not guarantee selection. Our selection committee, comprising professional filmmakers and critics, will make the final decision.

Screening & Awards

1. Official Selection Notification: Filmmakers will be notified via email.

2. Awards Ceremony: Winners will be honoured at the ENIFF Awards Ceremony in November 2024.

3. International Winners: Those outside Nigeria must cover shipping costs if they wish to receive their award plaque by mail.

4. No Screening Fees: ENIFF does not pay rental or screening fees for submitted works.
Legal & Promotional Rights

5. Liability: ENIFF is not responsible for lost or damaged materials.

6. Promotional Use: By submitting, you grant ENIFF permission to use clips from your film for promotional purposes.

7. Rights & Indemnity: You confirm you have the rights to the submitted project and indemnify ENIFF against any legal claims related to your content.
