🌏 EN Film Fest – The Festival of Connection
“Every film is a new encounter.”

EN Film Fest is a seasonal online short film festival that celebrates independent voices from around the world. Rooted in the Japanese concept of “en” (縁)—meaning connection, fate, and encounter—we provide a global platform for emerging filmmakers to share their work and connect with audiences.

We host two editions each year, in summer and winter. Submissions are open to short films of all genres and themes. For each edition, we select a group of nominated films and highlight them through our official channels. From these, one Grand Prize winner is chosen.

🌏 EN Film Fest – 出会いの映画祭
「すべての映画は、新しい出会い。」

EN Film Fest（エン・フィルム・フェスト）は、世界中のインディペンデント短編映画を対象としたオンライン映画祭です。
“縁（えん）”——つながり・運命・出会い——という日本の言葉をコンセプトに、フィルムメイカーと世界中の観客をつなぐ場をつくります。

映画祭は年2回、夏と冬に開催。ジャンルやテーマを問わず、あらゆる短編作品を募集します。
各シーズンでノミネート作品を選出し、公式SNSやニュースレターなどで積極的に紹介。その中から、1作品をグランプリとして発表します。

🎬 FAQ
– Do I need premiere status?
No. We accept films regardless of previous screenings or online availability.

– Can I submit more than one film?
Yes. You are welcome to submit multiple entries, but each must be submitted separately.

– Will my film be published online?
No full film will be published without the filmmaker’s permission. Only trailers, stills, or links (if provided) may be shared via our social channels.

– Can student films apply?
Yes. Student filmmakers are welcome to submit.

– Do I need English subtitles?
Yes. If your film is not in English, it must include English subtitles.

– プレミア上映が条件ですか？
いいえ。他の映画祭で上映済みの作品や、すでにオンラインで公開されている作品も応募可能です。

– 複数作品の応募はできますか？
はい。何作品でも応募可能ですが、それぞれ別々にご応募ください。

– 応募作品はオンラインで公開されますか？
フルバージョンの公開は行いません。予告編やスチール画像、または制作者が提供するリンクのみ紹介します。

– 学生映画でも応募できますか？
もちろん可能です。学生の方も歓迎します。

– 英語字幕は必要ですか？
英語・日本語以外の言語で制作された作品には、英語字幕が必要です。
（日本語作品には字幕は不要です。）

– Official EN Film Fest Laurel
All nominated and winning films receive a digital laurel to showcase on posters, websites, and promotional materials.

– Seasonal Grand Prize
One outstanding film is selected each season as the Grand Prize Winner.

– Social Media Promotion
Selected films are featured across our official social media channels to help them reach a wider global audience.

– Festival Page Feature (Optional)
Nominated films can be introduced on our official festival page. Participation is optional and based on the filmmaker’s consent.

– Judge’s Mention
In addition to the Grand Prize, one or more nominated films may receive a special mention from the judging team for their unique impact or creativity.

ノミネート作品の中から、希望者には映画祭公式サイトの特設ページでの掲載をご案内します。

– 審査員特別賞（Judge’s Mention）
グランプリとは別に、審査員が特に印象に残った作品には「審査員特別賞」を授与する場合があります。

Rules & Terms

🧷 Rules & Terms (FilmFreeway-friendly)
– Submissions must be short films under 30 minutes in length.
– All genres, themes, and styles are accepted.
– Films in any language are welcome, but non-English films must have English subtitles.
– You must own the rights to your film, including music and visuals.
– Films that promote hate, violence, or discrimination will not be accepted.
– Selected films may be featured on o social media or festival materials.
– By submitting, you grant EN Film Fest the right to promote your work through our channels (with credit).
– There is no monetary prize.
– Submission fees are non-refundable.
– EN Film Fest reserves the right to change or update the event schedule or selection process.
