Dublin Movie Awards is an international online event occurring seasonally. We invite filmmakers to join us for an event of drama, romances, thrillers and other genre films. We aim for diversity! We want to show the best fiction, animation and documentary films we receive wherever they come from. One of our goals is to value under-represented creators. We will pay a special attention to films with at least one woman involved in a key role: Director, Producer, Screenwriter, DOP, Lead Actress... In addition to the main competition, the 'Women in Focus' selection will screen the best films directed by women. We focus on the independent filmmaker and our festival structure is made so that registrants have a much higher% nomination than other festivals. So, our event is held every 3-4 months in order to reward the maximum number of filmmakers. We also believe that everyone deserves the same opportunities. That is why it does not matter if you register your project on the 1st or the 20th. We do not make any selections, until we have received all the entries.

The festival jury comprises of executives from distribution companies with a singular focus; We are looking for that next diamond in the rough, the next Paranormal Activity, Blair Witch or My Big Fat Greek Wedding! We are committed to providing opportunities to all content creators from around the world and to introduce their work to the broadest possible audience.

DUBLIN CHECKLIST
Requirements
Length: Short films need to be 40 minutes or less. We prefer most films sit on the shorter end of that spectrum—the average film we feature is 10 minutes. The longer your film, the tougher judges we tend to be.

Premiere Status:
No premiere status is required. So, don’t wait to submit your film.

Rights:
We require films to have all necessary rights and releases secured for us to feature them. Yes, this includes music.

Free to View:
We only select films that are free for audiences.

What We Look For
We look for great stories that brave new territory. We value great characters, interesting new worlds, and stories that surprise us over fancy visual effects, famous actors, or silly one-liners that often feed much of online videos. The best way to understand what we look for is to watch the short films in our collection. You can get a good sense of our taste by looking at what we have curated in the past.

Refund Policy
Unfortunately we cannot refund a submission fee once you’ve submitted your film. Please make absolutely sure you want to submit your film before doing so. As with other festivals, your fee is paid for your film to be considered. By no means does submitting your film guarantee that your film will be accepted. If your film is not accepted, your submission fee is not refunded.

  • Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to participate in your Dublin Movie Awards! I am delighted that my film, *Rosso Improvviso* (Suddenly Red), was selected as a Semi-finalist for Best Ensamble Film and Best Actress Feature Film. Reaching the semi-finals—or even the finals—among hundreds of feature, medium-length, and short films is truly a miracle. This recognition honors the talent, dedication, and sacrifices of an extraordinary team that believed in this film from the very first take 🎬.
A special thank you goes to the Festival Organizers and to every single professional who played a part in this ongoing journey. Now, we await the next verdict with the same enthusiasm we felt on the first day of filming 🚀.
