The Door County Film Festival is a grass roots, community driven event with goals of: encouraging the creation of moviemaking; establishing and hosting a winter event in beautiful Door County Wisconsin; entertaining and benefiting residents, visitors and businesses.
Door County is a great place to "get away from it all" in the middle of winter and watch some wonderful films from all over the world.
As an added bonus to the in-person festival, we offer an online element as well. The films shown at the festival can also be screened for one week on our website doorcountyfilmfest.com after the festival concludes.
Our audience chosen, best of the fest awards are the Coffee Mug Awards. It is hand crafted by a local potter Larry "Thor" Thoreson of Gills Rock Stoneware and truly is a one of a kind award. The categories for these awards are:
Best Student Film
Best Short Film
Best Feature Film
Jurors Award
Also a mug crafted by Larry "Thor" Thoreson of Gills Rock Stoneware. This award is chosen by a panel of filmmakers and film enthusiasts.
