***READ THE RULES** No refunds on entry fees. Open to authors over 18 years of age anywhere in the United States where allowable.
ANYONE from the USA over 18 years of age may enter. Kentucky writers may attend one of our table reads or events or email jessicainlouisville@gmail.com to request a waiver for discounted entry. (Events listed at shedreamscontent.com)
1. The story must be a narrative feature, short film, or TV pilot of any genre with the highest scoring considerations for an organically diverse cast or story. Diversity can refer to sexuality, ethnic background, class, neurodivergence, abilities and health, or story cultures.
2. The story must be set in or prominently feature the state of Kentucky or Kentuckians. We anticipate that some may simply change the location on current scripts. That's fine, but please try to research and properly describe Kentucky cities or locations accurately. We will not assume a scene labelled "country" could be Kentucky. The script needs to be specific.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
Best expression of diversity in characters, story, locations, cultures: 50% (Failure to include Kentucky will disqualify you)
Story development and creativity: 25%
Character development: 15%
Proper Screenplay formatting and structure: 10%
Our judges panel is comprised of experienced producers from Kentucky who have also worked in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and other cities.
*** We reserve the right to withhold award if there are not enough entries in a category that meet the required criteria. We will not award a category that has less than 2 entries that meet all criteria.
**Please be sure your project file does not have author name** This is blind judging.
