Founded in 2017, the Dinan Short Film Festival has quickly established itself as an international event dedicated to Francophone cinematic creation. Each year, it showcases the best short films from across the Francophone world, highlighting emerging talents and distinctive, innovative works.

The Festival takes place in Dinan, in the heart of the Côtes-d’Armor region of Brittany, within an exceptional historical setting that encourages encounters between filmmakers, industry professionals and audiences.

Organized by the association Court vers le large, the event brings together a diverse audience including film enthusiasts, students and professionals from the film industry.

Over five days, the Festival presents more than one hundred films, including around fifty short films selected in the official competition, coming from across the Francophone world. The competing films are evaluated by juries composed of recognized cinema professionals, in partnership notably with the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics (SFCC) and Pass Culture.

Alongside the competitions, the Festival also presents thematic screenings, programs for young audiences and special screenings, offering a rich and contemporary panorama of short filmmaking.

Since 2025, the Festival has also developed Dinan Film Pro, professional days dedicated to meetings, discussions and reflections on Francophone short films, bringing together directors, producers, critics and industry professionals.

The 9th edition of the Dinan Short Film Festival will take place from November 18 to 22, 2026.

Together, let us celebrate cinematic creativity and strengthen the connections between emerging talents of Francophone cinema. 🎬
