Desmond District Demons is a horrifying competition of films that takes place in Historic (and Haunted) downtown Port Huron, Michigan. The first Desmond District Demons Film Festival in 2016 proved to be a rousing success, and every seat in the house was taken. Year after year we aim to expand and improve our festival for attendees and filmmakers alike. We will also still dedicate an award to spotlight locally Michigan Made Films.

Awards will be given for Best Short, Best Feature, Audience Choice (Short and Feature Categories), Most Original Short, Scariest and Best Michigan Made Short.
(Non Cash awards)

Film must be of the Horror Genre and Films must be in English or include English Subtitles

Films must be delivered via Vimeo, Youtube, or FilmFreeway Online Screener for submission. If selected, you must provide a downloadable file in .mov format for exhibition

The location was very nice. Small screening theaters but amazing hosts and a great turnout. I went to almost every screening and it was quite an experience. The hospitality was great too. I look forward to going again and possibly submitting another film down the road.

We were so happy to have you screen at our Festival! The audiences loved it and our judges were excited because your film Plasmid was such a different perspective from what a lot of our submissions were this year, it really helped round our programming out!

  • I wasn't able to attend, but the festival had very solid communication and gave me the sense that they were truly excited to screen my film.

We had an amazing time at Desmond District Demons Film Festival! Our film won two awards and received two exceptionally well made trophies. The festival was run very professionally and the films were screened in a slick movie theater in downtown Port Huron. The fest organizers were warm and welcoming. Communication was excellent. If you have a horror short or feature, I would highly recommend submitting it to Desmond District Demons!
