DarkVeins Horror Fest

BAD EXPERIENCE. i advise you NOT TO SIGN UP FOR THIS FESTIVAL. let it be clear that i am not angry because I was not selected. I'm angry because they don't meet notice deadlines and don't respond to emails. It's been a month since the notifications they were supposed to provide. It's like a GHOST FESTIVAL. I am ashamed that it is organized by Italians; these people do not represent the Italian spirit. I don't understand the positive comments about this festival, i think they are mostly false. I repeat, DO NOT SIGN UP for this festival, it is a WASTE of money.

DarkVeins Horror Fest is the rudest, most fraudulent, unprofessional and selfish team I've ever had an experience with. They're also not an actual film festival, despite calling themselves that. You can see from the URL that they previously called themselves "Dark Veins Horror Awards" but have since changed it to "Fest" in an effort to dupe filmmakers into thinking it's a legitimate event. But it's not, it's a complete scam and I just had my money refunded by FilmFreeway after revealing this to them.

They repeatedly fail to notify their filmmakers by the promised deadlines and ignore every email and Facebook message sent out. They have so little respect for filmmakers that they openly insult them in a public sphere. If you read the review posted by Alessio Leombruni, you'll see a section disguised in Italian where the Festival that reads "We are ashamed of the pollution that people like you cause to our environment. You don't even have any idea what horror is", all as a response to him criticising them for failing to meet promised deadlines and ignoring all his emails. They also wrote "I see that you are a kid and I understand that it is your first job. You won't get far with this snooty attitude. You should show respect, first and foremost." which is completely hypocritical considering that they don't even respect their filmmakers enough to actually respond to their emails or meet promised deadlines.

And even after writing this review, the only response they have is "We're sorry we didn't select your film", once again completely ignoring everything I have to say. The people who run this Festival are selfish, greedy and have zero respect for you as a filmmaker. They want to take your money and will publicly insult you for calling them out on bad behaviour. Save your money and don't waste your time.

So thrilled that my film "Sequence/Orpheus is being selected for an Italian festival. The film is built around a lost scene from an early version of Monteverdi's "Orpheus<" so I feel like it is being returned to the composer's homeland.

Fantastic festival, can't wait to submit for the next one!
