Dan Eady is an actor and filmmaker working across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. His work consistently explores character-driven storytelling and psychological tension at the intersections of realism and heightened narrative forms.
His short film Sandwich (2024) received a Bronze Award from the New Zealand Cinematographers Society. Earlier work Actor’s Apocalypse screened on the festival circuit and received multiple award nominations including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor.
As an actor, his screen credits include Doctor Doctor and The Gods of Wheat Street, alongside touring work with the Queensland Arts Council. He has also appeared in theatre and screen projects across Australia, including The White Earth at La Boite Theatre and research-led performance work at Griffith University. His broader practice has included directing and producing interdisciplinary projects, including applied performance work in collaboration with health and education sectors
Alongside his screen work, he has facilitated actor training and screen performance initiatives across Brisbane, Sydney, and New Zealand, focusing on practical performance development and actor-led filmmaking processes. He is also a Preselection Panel Member (Volunteer) for Whānau Mārama New Zealand International Film Festival (NZIFF), contributing to the review of international feature film submissions.
