'Sandwich' is a story by Emily Frith about an overworked parole officer. The story comes from her working experiences here in Dunedin.
The project is the creation of a collaborative film group here in Ōtepoti that originally came from the desire for people to develop screen skills, most specifically screen acting. Since its beginning three years ago, ScreenDUNEDIN has worked at building those skills and looked at ways to develop opportunities. The recent Film Otago Southland crewing workshops and the Miranda Harcourt screen acting workshops have inspired and imparted learning to the group so much so that they have looked at ways to build on these experiences.
Long story short we shot this with local resources, crew, talent and post-production.
This project comes as a contribution toward developing a more sustainable and consistent film industry at a local grassroots level with a focus on local stories in our area.
