Following the successful first edition of the DOTS International Documentary Film Festival, we are pleased to announce the second edition: DOTS IDFF 2026! DOTS IDFF 2026 will be bigger, more diverse in themes, and as always full of stories worth telling. All we have is our stories.

DOTS Festival is an international documentary film festival based in Athens, Greece, dedicated to stories that deserve to be told. Through screenings, innovative storytelling formats, masterclasses and workshops it creates a meeting space for filmmakers and audiences alike. Dots international documentary film festival is a festival that goes beyond cinema, embracing humanity’s ever-evolving need to make sense of the world through stories.

Dots International Documentary Festival takes place at PLYFA, a historic industrial site in Athens, transformed into a contemporary cultural hub. The choice of venue is deliberate. PLYFA maintains the raw aesthetics and atmosphere of a former factory, offering an authentic backdrop open to experimentation.
In a space like this, stories breathe differently. The industrial character becomes a canvas for new narratives, enriching the viewer’s experience and highlighting the connection between art and social reality.

I had the honour of having my short film Carols selected for screening at the 2025 Dots Festival. The communication leading up to the screening, the hospitality, and the quality of the Q&A - led by a member of the Dots team - were all extraordinary. Every detail was thoughtfully cared for, demonstrating a deep respect for both the audiences and the filmmakers. The atmosphere was highly professional yet wonderfully warm. This team does an excellent job with social media promotion, and it’s no surprise that our screening - like most of the others - was sold out! Do not miss the opportunity to submit your film next year!
