The Dunedin International Film Festival (DIFF) is a platform for filmmakers to share their original content with the Florida Film Maker Community. The festival is hosted throughout Downtown Dunedin from January 14th - 17th, 2027. Dunedin is a vibrant artist community committed to the development of arts and culture in Pinellas County. We accept films of all lengths, and they are organized by category. We specialize in stories that matter. In our 8th year, we've added an experimental category to include the outliers of creation.

#Diffestival will continue to develop the film community in Florida and bring awareness to Dunedin, Florida's growing arts and cultural community. We organize cinematic experiences and live performance entertainment for one week in the cultural corridor of Pinellas County, Dunedin, Florida, USA. Dunedin is a designated Florida Gulf Coast Hope Spot. Hope Spots are special places that are critical to the health of the ocean — Earth’s blue heart. DIFF is also a certified Ocean Allies partner.

DIFF 2027 is Accepting all lengths of films. If selected, we require your film to send a representative of the film to participate in a Q&A following the screening. We do not cover travel expenses or accommodations for film makers.

Films must be the original work of the applicants. If a film is based on another person’s life or upon a book or other underlying work, the applicant(s) must secure any necessary rights to make such adaptations. However, submitting the adaptation rights agreements to the Festival is unnecessary. Neither the Festival nor its jurists investigate or attest to the authenticity of an applicant’s statement of authorship or rights secured. By entering the competition, you represent that you have secured all necessary rights.
Applicants are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary rights and permissions for third-party materials included in their films, including but not limited to music, trademarks, logos, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights. DIFF expressly disclaims all liability or responsibility for any violations of the preceding.

All entries must be in English or provide English subtitles to be considered.
Trailers and posters are strongly suggested to help with promoting the Festival. Entries must have been completed no earlier than 2025 to be considered.
No refunds of submission fees.
For each accepted entry, the filmmaker will receive two all-access passes to films. You only need to submit each film once.

Prizes awarded internationally may require a $100 donation to assist with international shipping costs (which often amount to several hundred American dollars each)

An incredible festival from start to finish. I was honored to present my personal short film in front of such an amazing crowd, and had the best time connecting with industry professionals who genuinely care.

I am so appreciative of DIFF and their efforts to put this film festival together!

I couldn't attend, so my scores are based on the online experience and watching from afar. Really great people - really nice and wonderful to work with - and I was told there was good attendance at our screening. I hope to be back in the future and able to attend in person!
