I make ink-dark films disguised as comic cartoons. They show personal problems wound hazardly on a spring; doomed affection ballooning absurdly into the void.

Beginning at Anthology Film Archives New York City, DD has made three publicly screened short films. The third of these, “Together!” (2009) toured globally to wide acclaim. DD's latest film, Granny X, continues investigations into impermanence and taboo.
DD was active in the late nineties California music scene and is partnered since then with LA punk novelist Thorn Kief Hillsbery, forever tying his work to that of the Situationists.
DD puts the disempowered center stage, demonstrating how their beauty survives in flashes of present time. From an early age DD trained in music and puts sound and music at the forefront of their presentations: Big stories about overlooked or discarded lives, testing the dimensions of the personal.
