This national level festival aims to encourage talent among students across the country. Currently, in its eleventh edition, it is the longest-running students' film festival. The festival seeks to address a felt need for a platform where student work can be showcased and discussed. Two prizes, consisting of a trophy and a citation, will be given in each category of Documentary and Short Fiction. In addition, there are technical awards for Cinematography, Editing and Sound Design.

Students from diploma, graduate and postgraduate programmes are invited to participate and submit entries in any one of the following categories:

1) Short Fiction
2) Documentary

Editing- Golden Owl and Silver Owl
Sound Design- Golden Owl and Silver Owl

Films produced after August 2017 and made while the filmmakers were bonafide students of an educational institution are eligible for submission. Films that have previously been screened at the festival are not eligible for entry.
