CrowdPicks Film Fest: Oakville is Oakville's premier audience-voted film festival. We are committed to creating an affordable and accessible film festival for young filmmakers, while also promoting networking opportunities with industry professionals.
We provide a spotlight for emerging filmmakers to showcase their work in front of an audience and gain valuable exposure in the industry.
This is the perfect festival to submit your film school assignments, personal projects, or any film that you want the world to see!

This year's festival will be held at Cineplex Cinemas Oakville & VIP on September 23rd & 24th from 6-9 pm. Night 1 will feature the documentary category and night 2 will feature the narrative category. Each night will consist of screening all the films, a short intermission, an audience vote, a Q&A with the directors of the films, and the award ceremony!

Awards & Prizes

Best Short Film:
Any narrative film (including animation, experimental, music video, etc.) with a runtime below 15 minutes
Grand Prize: $1000 in credit to Canada Film Equipment
Runner-up: $250 in credit to Mild Studios

Best Short Documentary:
Any documentary with a runtime below 15 minutes
Grand Prize: $1000 in credit to Canada Film Equipment
Runner-up: $250 in credit to Mild Studios

Rules & Terms

1. Award winners are decided by audience vote on the day of the film festival.
2. The festival selection committee chooses which films are screened at the festival. All decisions are final.
3. Multiple entries from the same submitter ARE accepted.
4. The film must be produced after January 1, 2024.
5. All films that are not in English, must have English language subtitles.
6. This festival is not premiere status so submissions may be screened at other film festivals and on social media.
7. Films that are submitted must be the entrant’s original work.
8. CrowdPicks Film Fest: Oakville organizers reserve the rights to change, cancel or re-schedule the dates, venue, awards & categories without consent or information to contestants.
