Coventry Phoenix Film Festival is an in-person 2-day film festival taking place at Fargo Village in Coventry at the end of April 2024.

The festival launched in 2022 to coincide with Coventry's year as the UK City of Culture, and has grown into a popular and exciting annual event, now entering its third year.

This years theme is 'Other Worlds'. Do you have a film that you think explores the concept of 'other worlds'? We're always interested in seeing stories which transport us to new perspectives, understanding, or allows us to see the world in a different way. If you have a film, documentary or animation which you think explores these ideas we'd love to see your submission!

The programme consists of screenings of curated films, documentaries and animations selected from the competition categories, as well as industry talks, filmmaker Q&As, Ab & Joe's infamous film quiz, and vital networking events, culminating in our awards ceremony, where 4 filmmakers will walk away with trophies and a coveted place as a CPFF winner.

Ultimately, the competition encourages submissions from all genres with the hope of promoting and supporting filmmakers both regionally and from around the world, providing another legitimate platform for a global audience to discover their work.

I can’t really say enough good things about this event. It was well-curated, took place in a brilliant venue (with excellent tech capability), was run by really enthusiastic staff and attracted a big crowd of inspiring creatives. I would definitely recommend this festival for any filmmakers looking for festivals to exhibit their work at.

It was a delight to be included + receive an award at the inaugural Coventry Phoenix Film Festival. A great blend of eager students, great guests, and well-organised proceedings. Really enjoyed being there: will look forward to watching the festival grow + submitting in the future!

I'm really happy my film was selected and won an award, thank you! I could not attend the festival, so I can't comment on the quality of the films or the programme, but the communication was good and friendly and the social media posts gave a really positive impression of the festival.
