Cotati Short Film Festival – Rules & Terms
AI Content Policy:
Films created entirely using AI tools are not eligible for submission.
Submissions:
There is no limit to the number of films a filmmaker may submit. Each film must be:
-Original
-Unique from any other submission by the same filmmaker
-Submitted with its own completed entry form and agreement
Language Requirements:
Films must be in English or include English subtitles.
Submission Platform:
All films must be submitted through FilmFreeway. All eligible entries will be reviewed by the Cotati Short Film Festival selection committee. The festival reserves the right to disqualify or reject any submission that contains prohibited content or is deemed offensive, inappropriate, or otherwise unacceptable. Official selections will be notified via email.
Rights & Permissions:
By submitting a film, the filmmaker confirms they hold all necessary rights to the visual and audio elements of the film, including music. Submission grants the Cotati Short Film Festival the right to screen the film if selected as an official festival entry.
Festival Changes:
The Cotati Short Film Festival reserves the right to change, postpone, or cancel the event at any time, without obligation to refund or reimburse any expenses incurred by filmmakers, including but not limited to travel, accommodations, marketing materials, and delivery, or ticket purchases.
Eligibility Restrictions:
Employees, contractors, immediate family members (parent, spouse, child, sibling, and their respective spouses), and members of the same household of the Cotati Short Film Festival, its affiliates, partners, sponsors, and promotional agencies are not eligible to submit films for competition.
