Our festival takes place in Colonna, a beautiful little town near Rome, Italy, and it's on its sixth edition.
Sponsored by the Municipality of Colonna, Proloco di Colonna, Parco Regionale dei Castelli Romani, Comunità Montana dei Castelli Romani e Prenestini, in collaboration with Regione Lazio, Corto Colonna aims to create a meeting point for young filmmakers to present their works, making them visible to a new audience and industry professionals.
Corto Colonna was founded by its current artistic director Daniele Tullio with the collaboration of Photo Club Controluce APS, of which he's now President. The event is supported every year with great pleasure by the City of Colonna and many local establishments that believe in and care for the event.
In honor of the 2026 italian Olympics, the FIFA World Cup and the 50th anniversary of Rocky, this year's focus will be on sports related short stories.

Il festival si svolge a Colonna, una splendida cittadina vicino Roma, e giunge nel 2026 alla sua sesta edizione.
Sponsorizzato dal Comune e dalla Proloco di Colonna, Parco Regionale dei Castelli Romani, Comunità Montana dei Castelli Romani e Prenestini, in collaborazione con la Regione Lazio, Corto Colonna nasce con l'obiettivo di creare un punto d'incontro dove giovani autori possano presentare le loro opere, rendendole visibili a un nuovo pubblico e a professionisti del settore.
Corto Colonna è stato fondato dall'attuale direttore artistico Daniele Tullio con la collaborazione di Photo Club Controluce APS, di cui è l'attuale Presidente. L'evento è sostenuto ogni anno con piacere dalla Città di Colonna e da numerosi enti locali che hanno a cuore la manifestazione.
In onore del cinquantesimo anniversario del film Rocky, delle Olimpiadi 2026 e dei Mondiali di calcio, il focus di quest'anno sarà sullo sport.

Each short film will be reviewed by at least three judges after approval by our screening team. The Jury will feature industry experts and proven professionals from different branches of film culture who will compete to determine the most deserving work among those participating in the competition. The audience will instead be asked to vote at the end of the screenings through a custom form.

When you enter the competition, your film is automatically considered in all Technical and Performance Categories. There will be no joint winners.
🏆 PRIZES:
Best Picture will be awarded the Luigi Vetere Award, a memorial award in memory of Luigi Vetere, a young Italian cinematographer who tragically passed away in the summer of 2022.
The Luigi Vetere Award was established in 2023 and is awarded annually by Corto Colonna. The Best Picture wins EITHER one Dolby™ Digital compliant, Theatrical / Broadcast (short film) sound mix for the value of €1.000 OR one digital color grading + DCP finalization process (short film) for the same value.

🗳 GIURIA:
Ogni cortometraggio sarà visionato da almeno tre giurati dopo l'approvazione da parte del nostro team di selezione. La giuria sarà composta da esperti del settore e professionisti affermati provenienti da diversi ambiti della cultura cinematografica, che concorreranno a decretare l'opera più meritevole tra le partecipanti. Al pubblico verrà invece chiesto di votare al termine di ogni proiezione tramite un modulo personalizzato.

Iscrivendo il vostro cortometraggio al concorso, esso verrà automaticamente inserito in tutte le categorie tecniche e artistiche. Non saranno ammesse vittorie ex-aequo.
🏆 PREMI:
Il cortometraggio decretato Miglior Corto riceverà il Premio Luigi Vetere, un premio commemorativo in ricordo del giovane direttore della fotografia venuto a mancare nell'estate 2022. Il Premio è stato istituito nel 2023 per onorare la sua memoria e viene assegnato annualmente da Corto Colonna. Il vincitore del Miglior Corto avrà diritto O a un mix sonoro per cortometraggio (conforme agli standard Dolby™ Digital per le sale cinematografiche e il broadcast/streaming) per il valore di €1.000 OPPURE a un processo completo di color grading digitale + finalizzazione DCP per lo stesso valore.
