The 21st annual CortoCircuito Latino Shortfest will take place in New York City, November 5-7, 2025.
CortoCircuito was founded over two decades ago to spotlight short films by and about filmmakers from Latin America, Spain, and the United States. The festival stands out for its long-standing commitment to deepening public understanding of the histories, lives, and richly diverse cultures of Spanish-, Portuguese-, and Indigenous-speaking communities.
Each year, the festival presents a dynamic selection of animated, narrative, documentary, and experimental shorts—many making their U.S. or New York premieres. In addition to screenings, CortoCircuito features lively Q&As, thematic programs, and festive celebrations that honor the vital contributions of Latino cultures to New York’s vibrant artistic landscape.
At its core, the festival is grounded in the belief that film and dialogue can help shape a more collaborative, just, and peaceful society. For over 20 years, through its programs and workshops, CortoCircuito has fostered cultural exchange, critical reflection, and creative connection.
