CONTRAST Film Festival is 3 days of film & events focused on presenting diverse, divergent, and subversive identities and perspectives through unique and forward thinking filmmaking. With a focus on experimental, genre, music video, and modern narrative filmmaking, CONTRAST truly is ‘strikingly different’. Coming to the Austin Film Society Cinema in May 2018.

All works entered must be created with female identifying, queer/lgbtq, or persons of color in key creative roles (director, writer, producer) and/or contain themes relevant to those communities. We accept narrative, experimental, music video, and genre works.

Works-in-progress and rough cuts are eligible for submission if the completed project is available by March 30, 2018. Please include a note to specify which part of the project is yet to be completed (temporary sound, color correction needed, etc).

By submitting your work to Contrast, you grant Contrast permission to use an excerpt of your project for promotional purposes. Stills from your project are highly recommended and may make a difference in the coverage of your project and its prominence in the printed program and promotional materials. Stills should be in JPEG, TIFF, or PNG format and 300dpi (dots per inch).
