-We are only accepting films that fit within the genre at the Cold Snap Film Festival! Films that celebrate the outdoors, nature, human powered adventures with a twist of environmental justice and inclusivity! We're excited to see your entry if it is reasonably consistent with this focus. (Yes, that was a camera pun. Not sorry.)
-No Late Submissions! Here are our entry dates:
-Time to talk about time. Our preferred runtimes are between three minutes and 30 minutes. If your film is slightly more than 30 minutes that's not a deal breaker- but please keep it going longer than the minimum of three minutes- most people can if you know what we mean.
-Please submit a fully completed film with your entry! We will not accept 'rough cut' films.
-Films should be delivered in ProRes 422 with 10 bit codec and uncompressed audio. H.264 10bit is acceptable as well. Questions? Please ask!
-You want to submit an older film? Great! As long as it hasn't been already viewed at one of our previous Film Festivals here at The Timber Trails/ Dan Bailey's "Pray For Snow Celebration and Outdoor Film Screening" you're all set. Can't wait to check it out!
-Speaking of submissions... Please submit the following:
-Title & Description
-Cast of credits from your producer, director, talent, artists.. stuff like that.
-Send us a profile pic of your head creator(s) (who's responsible for your film!)
-We will need a basic press kit containing images that we can use to plug your film!
-If you have any non-english content in your entry please include subtitles! Grazie!
-A can do attitude! We're pretty new to this film fest stuff so please be patient with us! We all love the outdoors, nature and being rad- let's remember to keep it positive for the sake of outdoor stoke.
-More than one submission? Awesome. Just remember you must submit each entry separately and pay the entry fee for each individual entry. Thanks!
-Student films must include a copy of a CURRENT student ID or proof of enrollment. A copy of your student I.D. can be uploaded to FilmFreeway or e-mailed to info@danbaileys.com.
-We're not responsible if your film infringes on copyrights and stuff like that! Acquisition of Copyrights, Trademarks, intellectual property or any specific content is the responsibility of the entrant! We follow the rules (sorta) so you need to too.
-We do not allow screening fees to be charged for the showing of our films. Cold Snap is a non-profit endeavor intended to celebrate our growing outdoor community in a very local way, and we also like to use our fundraising to help those in need in southwest Montana. Thanks for understanding.
-Let's pretend we have accepted your entry (Hooray). We reserve the right to use any music, images and content for our advertising purposes. This helps us attract participants, raise money for non profit work in our community and it also makes your film look cooler... meaning you will look cooler. Thanks for being cool with that.
-Lastly, by submitting your entry to us you are attesting that all your work, content, methods, ethics and so on are totally legit. We don't have time to do detective work because we're too busy fishing, skiing, riding bikes or screening mountains of short outdoor inspired films. We appreciate your professionalism in this regard. It's a big win for everybody!
