Get ready for the Cinetopia Film Festival, Ann Arbor's celebration of "the best films from the world's best festivals," happening May 13th -17th! To accompany our Feature Film program, we're on the hunt for short films that showcase the vibrant diversity and incredible talent of both our local filmmakers as well as filmmakers from around the world.

Selected shorts will play before Feature Films throughout the festival, with a special spotlight program, after which, the winners will be revealed during our Closing Night Party.

Rules & Terms

-Films must be completed within the last two years.

-Premiere Status is not required, but we love to know if you're premiering with us!

-Films submitted to the Michigan Made Shorts Category must have been produced in the state of Michigan

-Films primarily made using Generative AI Software will not be considered

-All Films with dialogue must include English Subtitles if not in the English Language

-The submitter holds copyright to the film, including music and stock footage used. It is the submitter's responsibility to ensure that the copyright to their films are cleared for the festival.

-The Submitter grants Cinetopia and Marquee Arts the right to use Exerts, Stills, and Descriptions of their film for promotional material

-All personal information of the submitter will be kept strictly confidential by Cinetopia and Marquee Arts staff

-Entry fees are per film entered, and are non-refundable.

-Your Entry Fee goes towards at least two human screeners reviewing your film, tech fees, and prizes.

-Submitted films links or copies will never be shared or duplicated outside of adjudication purposes

-Works in Progress will be accepted, but the completed film must be delivered by the Notification Date

-All submissions will be notified of their selection status on the published Notification Date.
