CINEVOX Dance Film Festival is hosted annually by BodyVox in Portland, Oregon, USA.

CINEVOX is dedicated to sharing innovative new dance films from around the world with Portland's ever-expanding dance audience. Now in its 8th year, CINEVOX has firmly established itself as an important venue for films of global significance.

Long-form or short, aggressive or whimsical, from established or emerging artists...CineVox is an open and inclusive forum designed to advance the art form of dance on film, and thereby the art of dance itself.

In February of 2025, and for the second year in a row, CINEVOX is proudly in partnership with DARE TO DANCE IN PUBLIC FILM FESTIVAL (D2D), an International Dance Film Festival dedicated to celebrating, promoting, and democratizing the art of dance, the genre of Screen Dance, and its intersection with Film (aka: ScreenDance or DanceFilm). Since 2015, Los Angeles based D2D has attracted leading international producers, directors, choreographers, curators and more, as both Audience Members & Judges, with cash prizes given to winning filmmakers. This year, D2D Round 7 Judges include: Paul Lightfoot, Jasmine Albuquerque, Kyle Abraham and Rick Tia.

As a result of this partnership, your film may be selected by D2D for one of their screenings in Los Angeles (Spring of 2025) or in Portland (February 2025).

BodyVox is an internationally touring contemporary dance company based in Portland. BodyVox productions are known for incorporating film and live video feeds and effects, and the company has made numerous films that have won multiple international awards.

DARE TO DANCE IN PUBLIC FILM FESTIVAL speaks DANCE as a Universal Language that connects us as people… Transcending race, religion, ethnicity, gender, culture, language and more, to creatively explore what is possible at the intersections of dance and film, and what it is to be human in the world today.

Before submitting, please remember we are specifically a festival of dance-film, and do not show non-dance related film.

We were thrilled that Cinevox chose to screen our film Lockdown Portraits! Though we were unable to attend as we are based in London, the pairing of our film with a film about Hans van Manen was perfect. Friends who attended the screening said it was a great night, with a lovely crowd and a sweet vibe. Thank you Cinevox for giving Lockdown Portraits its North American premiere!
