Cinematic Prismatic International Film Festival 2024 is a short film festival that will take place in Yekaterinburg, Russia from November 25 to 30 at the Ural Federal University named after the first president of Russia, B.N. Yeltsin.

Cinematic Prismatic Film Festival is an independent event organised by film lovers to promote filmmaking in Sverdlovsk region. We seek for a good story and articism that can involve our wide audience into the great realm of short moviemaking.

Festival accepts only feature shorts, fictional or related to fantasy genres. All films must be from 10 to 25 minutes long.

A laurel "Official Selection" will be awarded for all films short-listed.
Every WINNER in the following categories will be awarded with Statuette, Diplomas and "Winner" laureals:

- Best Dark Short Film
- Best Light Short Film
- Best Film from the North
- Best Film from the South
- Best Film from the West
- Best Film from the East
- Audience Choice Award

After the physical screenings - 25 - 30 of November - we will send notification to all winners via e-mail. The decision of the Jury will be unquestionable and no prize could be declared vacant.

1. All participants agree to the current rules and regulations of the Cinematic Prismatic International Film Festival (hereinafter referred to as CPIFF).

2. Submitted films must belong to the following genres: Fantasy, Thriller, Drama, Science Fiction, Adventure, Comedy, Horror.

3. The following are not eligible for participation: documentary, musical, experimental films.

4. Applications are accepted only in electronic form. Films in any language are accepted, with mandatory subtitles in English or Russian (if these languages are not spoken in the original). The film must have a duration of 10 to 25 minutes. One author may submit no more than two works (If an author submits more than two works, all films by that author will be disqualified from participation).

5. By submitting an application, the participant agrees that their film will be screened if selected.

6. The festival will be held in the following categories:

COMPAS - The cardinal directions from the perspective of Russia:
- "CINE-NORTH": Russia, the countries of the Scandinavian Peninsula
- "CINE-SOUTH": countries of Africa, Australia, countries of Latin America
- "CINE-WEST": North America, Europe
- "CINE-EAST": China, Japan, Central Asian countries and the Middle East

LIGHT and DARK Short Films. The concept of light and dark cinema is based on the contrast between films with positive and negative endings:
- DARK SHORT FILMS: This category includes feature films, narrative films, or animations related to the genres of thriller, drama, science fiction and horror.
- LIGHT SHORT FILMS: This category includes feature films, narrative films, or animations related to the genres of adventures, fantasy and comedy.

7. If selected Authors will be emailed to provide us with a Digital Cinema Package (DCP) or HD file of their film, as well as 3 stills from the film and its poster.

8. If selected All submissions will be displayed on the official festival website and on social media.

9. CPIFF awards prizes in the following categories:
- Best Dark Film
- Best Light Film
- Best Film from the North
- Best Film from the South
- Best Film from the West
- Best Film from the East
- Audience Choice Award

10. The jury will be appointed by the CPIFF management. The committee of the jury will be published on the CPIFF website.

11. The film screening schedule will be compiled closer to the festival date. We will do our best to adhere to the established schedule; however, CPIFF reserves the right to change the venue and time of the event at any time for any reason. CPIFF also bears no responsibility for expenses incurred as a result of schedule changes.

12. Awards will be presented after the screenings, and notifications will be sent to the winners via email, with corresponding announcements posted on social media. All decisions are final.

13. By submitting, you grant us the right to screen your film, copy and/or reproduce it, modify, and adapt any part of it up to one minute. We also have the right to use your application and all attached materials for promotional purposes across all social media.

14. You retain all copyright for the film and all its materials (for each submitted work separately). You also confirm that you own (and will own throughout the duration of CPIFF and beyond) all necessary licenses, rights, and consents required for us to use your film(s), and that you will provide us with all necessary evidence of this if needed.

15. We bear no responsibility for damages, losses, or dissatisfaction incurred by anyone as a result of applying to CPIFF and subsequent events.

16. Films that are low in sound and image quality, contain profanity or overtly aggressive content, or incite extremism, xenophobia, or other illegal actions as defined by Russian law will not be considered.
