With our roots embedded in accolades earned at international and national arenas like the Shanghai Student Film Festival and Clash Of Titans, our festival seeks to transcend conventional boundaries. It’s a unique platform designed to bridge the gap between international and local schools in China, offering a space where diverse narratives, backgrounds, and perspectives converge, weaving a rich tapestry of storytelling that illuminates the universal language of film.

Rules & Terms

Ensure your film adheres to our submission criteria to be part of the illuminating cinematic experience at Chroma!
- Duration:all films should be 10 minutes or below.
- School Submissions: A limit of 12 films per school. All Submissions should be accompanied by an image of a valid student identification document. One film can be submitted into multiple categories.
- Music: Copyrighted music welcomed, though excluded from the Original Music Award.
- Stock Footage: Aim for authenticity; no stock footage is allowed.
- Generative AI: A celebration of human ingenuity; AI-created films are not permitted.
- Language: All languages are welcomed but English subtitles are required for non-English films.
- Participation: All stages of production must be student-led with no aids from professionals.
- Submission Platform: Easily submit entries through FilmFreeway (link coming soon).
- Adherence to Rules: Violations lead to disqualification, rescinded awards, and future disqualification.
Content Guidelines:
Students’ film course must not:
1, Damage the environment
2, Glamorize the taking of drugs
3, Inappropriately reference socially taboo subjects
4, Incite or condone intolerance or hatred of others
5, Include excessive or gratuitous violence
6, Make reference to, or represent, explicit sexual activity.
