Chroma Art Film Festival (CAFF) is calling upon filmmakers and artists from diverse backgrounds to submit their visionary works for consideration. We seek films and video art that explore the creative and innovative use of color, light, and sound. Submissions are invited in the following five categories:
Experimental Short: Challenge narrative, documentary, or animation conventions while experimenting with form, style, or technique. Science fiction themes exploring alternate realities, futuristic technologies, or extraterrestrial encounters are especially welcome. Maximum length: 30 minutes.
Experimental Documentary/Essay Short: Document reality or examine unconventional topics in artistic ways that delve into personal, social, or cultural issues. Maximum length: 20 minutes.
Cinematic Poetry/Video Art: Utilize poetic language, imagery, sound, or video as a medium of artistic expression to create a lyrical or expressive experience. Music videos are also accepted. Maximum length: 15 minutes.
Animation submission: Created using animation, VR, or 360 techniques such as traditional animation, stop-motion animation, 2D animation, 3D animation, VR, or 360 videos. Films should be no longer than 20 minutes and should utilize animation or VR to convey a story or message. They should not contain violent, sexual, or offensive content.
VR Submission: can use animation, VR, or 360 techniques such as traditional animation, stop-motion animation, 2D animation, 3D animation, VR, or 360 videos. They should not contain violent, sexual, or offensive content. this film is only going to be no longer than 3 min limited, only to be viewed on a VR headset during the festival ( select Vr films will be ask to provide specs for vr head set )
AI-Driven Films: Films that are AI-generated, pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and storytelling through advanced machine learning algorithms. These films showcase the remarkable capabilities of AI in creating captivating narratives, visuals, and soundscapes.
