Yiddish Book Center's Wexler Oral History Project
Christa is a documentary filmmaker whose work focuses on language, culture, and identity. Her debut feature documentary, Ver Vet Blaybn? (Who Will Remain?), debuted at the Miami Jewish Film Festival in April 2021 and has been screened at festivals including the Boston Jewish Film Festival and NHDocs. Previously, Christa has directed and produced half a dozen short documentaries.
Originally from Northern California, Christa holds a BA from Smith College in Comparative Literature and Dance, and is currently pursuing an MBA at the Isenberg School of Management. She has spent the past decade traveling near and far in search of Yiddish stories as the director of the Yiddish Book Center’s Wexler Oral History Project, gaining skills in filmmaking, video production, and archival preservation along the way.
