Chennai Rainbow Film Festival (CRFF) is organized by Chennai Dost, which is a registered non-profit organization for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community in South India and its office located in Chennai.

The Chennai Rainbow (LGBT) Film Festival showcases the best LGBT films which are internationally acclaimed works that fosters diversity throughout the world.

The festival is curated and based on thematic sections, some of which change every year to reflect issues that are gripping the world’s – and filmmakers’- imagination.

It also explores a wide variety of issues and situations involving the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer communities.

We wanted the GLBTQ voices to be heard. The big screen is one way we can do this.

Award categories are

1. Best International LGBT Short Film (Cash prize and Award)
2. Best International LGBT Documentary & feature length film (Cash prize and Award)
3. Best Indian/National LGBT film based on the CRFF 2016 theme (Winner will get Rs. 10,000 cash prize)
4. Best Tamil LGBT film (Winner will get a free trip to Dubai + Rs. 10,000 cash prize).
