Carl Timms has twenty years experience in the indie film-making scene, having worked on a number of documentaries, short films and music videos as producer and editor. In 2016 he completed his directorial debut, the comedy horror short, STILL, which made Official Selection at 25 festivals, winning 9 awards in total.
Shortly after he formed Dark Matter Films with screenwriter Mark Brendan, producing and directing the 22minute thriller OFF GRID starring James Cosmo, Alison Steadman and Marc Baylis, due for release summer 2019.
Carl and Mark are working on a slate of projects including four features: THEATRE OF WAR, a claustrophobic sci-fi thriller; HUNTER's MOON, a werewolf film; NOBODY, an urban social thriller; OFF GRID, feature version of the short film. AS well as this they have two other shorts ready to go: THE SQUIRE and HERO.
Carl's previous work includes producing the WW2 documentary IN TONI'S FOOTSTEPS about the Occupation of the Channel Islands by German Forces, directing and producing four installments of the acclaimed PRESSURE DVD paintball documentary series and directing an award winning video for the 2006 2Weeks 2Make It competition in Sheffield, UK.
