  • This looked like a very exciting festival to be a part of and we were happy to be selected to screen. If it had been any other year, we would've been able to attend the festival and bring our Canadian film to the Michigan audience, but due to the pandemic, the festival was post-poned. I hope one day we'll be able to watch our short film here on the big screen, we just got an unlucky year. Maybe the festival could move online until cinemas are safe to reopen? Thank you for the official selection.

I'm happy that my film "Roses in the Night" was selected for Capital City Film Festival! I believe that despite the virus, the festival will take place at a later date and be as successful as its previous releases. Good luck dear friends!

  • I came across Capital City Film Festival on Moviemaker’s 25 Coolest Film Festivals list, then saw that their reviews on FilmFreeway were good, and then their photos looked … well, cool! That and a low submission fee made it worth giving submission a shot; and I’m so glad I did. I had a great time! The screenings were well attended by welcoming locals who were excited to have films and filmmakers visiting their community. The programming director and staff are some of the most warm and friendly people I’ve ever met. The venues were unique with attention paid to achieving technical quality. The festival has a certain casual but professional vibe to it that just makes it fun to be there. The other thing that made the festival standout is how incredibly inclusive it is. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a festival that wasn’t a specifically LGBTQ and/or women-focused festival that was so intentionally inclusive in its programming. I definitely plan to submit future work.

If you want to enter a festival that that throws an awesome Opening Gala, curates the independent films your dying to see, and meet good people who love film as much as you do, then Capital City Film Fest is so worth the submission. I’ve been screening with Capital City Film Festival for awhile now and they have never let me down showing me a good time. I am so grateful to them for all their hard work and the opportunity they give myself and other filmmakers in getting their work out there in front of enthusiastic audiences! Thank you Capital City Film Festival!
