The Canvas & Reels Festival is an event designed to bring young film makers and artists together to appreciate their art/films. We've put together the festival with the idea to bringing together like-minded artists and filmmakers to connect and explore opportunities for one another. This is our first year running but hope to leave a lasting impact as a continuous event for years to come, giving many students and young artists room to explore.

- "The People's Champion" Award

- Judge's Pick

- Experimental Short

- Narrative Short

- Documentary Short

- Educator Award

Rules & Terms

ONLY High School Students may submit!

(Preferably Ohio Based)

Running Time: 1min-10min

If your film's dialogue is not in English, it MUST include English subtitles.

Rules for Categories:

The Peoples Champion Award is awarded to the film with the most votes from the audience

Narrative Award: Any narrative work of fiction

Documentary Award: Any nonfictional film or film that documents real life events

Experimental/Other Award: Anything that does not fit into the other categories

Educator Award: This award goes to an advisor or mentor who has had a big impact on a student's creative expression and growth as a filmmaker. Each student entry can include a nomination for this award along witht their project.
