This was a fantastic festival experience for our team and for our feature film. The RRFF chose to open the festival with our film, and from the very first moment they made us feel welcome and valued. The venue is spectacular, the people are awesome, the other films are a treat, and the receptions are well-appointed (the perfect atmosphere for networking or for just celebrating with your team and other cinephiles). Can't wait for the next one!

It’s honestly wild that in their first year, Riot in the River is already more professional, welcoming, and filmmaker-focused than many long-running festivals. This is truly a festival you want to be a part of. The team clearly cares about the filmmakers and the experience, and that shows in every interaction.

They absolutely have my support moving forward and will always be on my must-submit list. I’m hoping to attend in person next year, because even from a distance it’s clear this is an excellent festival that’s building something special.

One of my favorite aspects was the programming approach. I loved how the festival blended student filmmakers with emerging and established professionals. It created a collaborative, inclusive energy that felt true to the spirit of independent film.

Seriously, this is one of the good ones. Riot in the River has a real shot at becoming a staple on the East Coast festival circuit. Highly recommended for filmmakers and audiences alike.
