We are incredibly excited to team up with Fresh Heart Project to award £2000 to a UK based short film project.

We aim to support UK based filmmakers by providing finance for their short film. That’s not all! The completed short film will be available as one of the “Festival Short Films” on the Cameo Launch platform with a campaign to promote the successful filmmaker. The completed film will also premiere at the Cameo Launch Short Film Festival in November 2023.

All film rights will remain the property of the filmmaker.

We have set the following deadlines for entry:

• Early bird deadline: 31st Dec 2021
• Regular deadline: 28th Jan 2022
• Late deadline: 25th Feb 2022

Key dates:
• Submissions will be judged by the awarding panel and the shortlisted filmmakers will be notified on 14th March 2022
• Shortlisted filmmaker interviews will be held on 18th and 21st March 2022
• The winner will be announced on 25th March 2022

The submitted application must include:
• Synopsis
• Short biography of the submitting applicant
• Script or treatment (script preferred)
• Examples of previous work and the applicant’s role in such previous work

The successful applicant will receive:
1. An award of £2000 to go towards the production of their short film
2. A premiere screening of their short film at the Cameo Launch Short Film Festival in November 2023
3. The film will feature as a Festival Short Film on the Cameo Launch platform
4. The successful filmmakers will be promoted by podcast interviews, video interviews, social media campaigns and Q&A sessions at the premiere of their short film

• UK based applicants only
• Writer, producer & director must be attached to the short film (1 person can hold more than 1 role, this needs to be stated in the application)
• Application must be made by either the producer, director or writer
• Film duration must not exceed 15 mins

FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. The Promoter
The promoter is “Lion Mountain Entertainment” of Lower Ground Floor Office, 109-111 Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith, London, W6 8JA

2. The competition
2.1 The title of the competition is Cameo Launch Short Film Fund.

3. How to enter
3.1 The competition will run from 17:00 on 3 December 2021 (the "Opening Date") to 23:59 on 25 February 2022 (the "Closing Date") inclusive.
3.2 All competition entries must be received by the Promoter by no later than 23:59 on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
3.3 To enter the competition:
(a) submit the completed application via the FilmFreeway website (https://filmfreeway.com/CameoLaunchShortFilmAward) by the Closing Date including:
(i) Synopsis
(ii) Short biography of the submitting applicant
(iii) Script or treatment (script preferred)
(iv) Examples of previous work and the applicant’s role in such previous work
(b) Pay the entry fee:
(i) £15 if the application form is submitted on or before 31 December 2021
(ii) £20 if the application form is submitted between 1 January 2022 and 28 January 2022
(iii) £30 if the application form is submitted between 29 January 2022 and 25 February 2022.
3.4 The Promoter will not accept:
(a) responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
(b) proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
3.5 By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
3.6 The competition entries will be judged by the content manager and festival director of Cameo Launch. The decision of the panel of judges (acting reasonably) will be final.

4. Eligibility
4.1 The competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over.
4.2 The writer, producer and director must already be appointed in respect of the competition entry and must be named on the application form.
4.3 The production must take place in the UK.
4.4 The competition entry must be in respect of a short film that does not exceed 15 minutes (preferably around 10 minutes in length).
4.5 The competition entry must include a budget or outline of how the award money would be spent including any funding to be sourced from third-parties.
4.6 By entering the competition, you covenant that you will be available to attend the Cameo Launch Short Film Festival in order to be announced as the recipient of the award specified in clause 5 and you will submit to interviews as part of the Cameo Launch Short Film Festival.
4.7 You covenant that if you are announced as the winner of the award specified in clause 5 that the winning competition entry will be produced and ready to be screened at the Cameo Launch Short Film Festival in 2023.
4.8 You covenant that if you are announced as the winner of the award specified in clause 5 you will provide weekly updates to the Promoter with regards to production of the winning competition entry.
4.9 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the award. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.

5. The award
5.1 The award is
(a) A £2,000 contribution towards production of the winning entry as a short film
(b) Online premiere on the Cameo Launch platform as a festival short film & screening at Cameo Launch Short Film Festival 2023
(c) Exclusive interview as part of the Q&A programme during the Cameo Launch Short Film Festival 2022

6. Winners
6.1 The decision of the Promoter is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.2 The Promoter will announce the finalists (top 6 applications) on 14 March 2022.
6.3 The finalists will be subject to interview on 18 March 2022 or 21 March 2022.
6.4 The winner will be announced on 25 March 2022.
6.5 The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will publish the surname of the award winner and, if applicable, their winning entries on the website www.cameolaunch.com and Cameo Launch social media channels on 25 March 2022 (Announcement Date).
6.6 If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter by email at hello@cameolaunch.com. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

7. Acceptance of the award
7.1 You agree that if you are announced as the winner of the award, you will be available to accept the award at the Cameo Launch Short Film Festival 2022. If you are not available as required by the terms of this agreement, you forfeit all rights to receive the award.
7.2 By accepting the award, you agree to commit to fulfilling your obligations under these terms and condition.

8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Entering the competition does not affect your intellectual property rights in the competition entry. You hereby grant to the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, fully paid-up licence to store and view your competition entry for the purpose of determining a winner of the competition.
8.2 You agree that should you win the competition, that you shall grant to the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, store, reproduce, distribute and otherwise deal with the intellectual property rights in your competition entry. You agree that the Promoter may make the winning competition entry available for streaming on the Promoter’s Cameo Launch platform. The Promoter shall make the winning competition entry available for paid download on its Cameo Launch Platform with the Promoter and the winner sharing the realised revenue from paid downloads in a split of £0.75 to the winner and £0.74 to the Promoter.
8.3 You agree that should you win the competition, you will not publish the winning competition entry via any channel for at least 1 month after it is first made available on the Cameo Launch Platform.

9. Limitation of liability
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the award except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

10. Data protection and publicity
10.1 The Promoter will only process your personal information as permitted in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

11. General
11.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
11.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
11.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
