Le candidature dovranno essere inoltrate entro e non oltre le 23.59 del 5 luglio 2026 tramite il sito FilmFreeway.
La selezione avviene a cura e a giudizio inappellabile della direzione artistica e del comitato di selezione del Festival. La durata massima richiesta è 20 minuti.
SEZIONE COMPETITIVA CORTOMETRAGGI
Sono ammessi al concorso, cortometraggi internazionali (italiani e stranieri) terminati dopo il 1 gennaio 2025. La selezione dei film in concorso avviene a cura e a giudizio inappellabile della direzione artistica e del comitato di selezione del Festival. I corti non italiani dovranno pervenire con i sottotitoli in inglese o spagnolo. La durata massima richiesta è 20 minuti.
Il concorso si articola in queste sezioni:
Cortometraggi, italiani e stranieri, di tutti i generi con durata massima di 20 minuti;
Cortometraggi che promuovono il territorio della Sicilia, o realizzati da registi siciliani con durata massima di 20 minuti.
La Direzione del Festival nominerà una giuria composta da esperti del settore cinematografico per l’assegnazione dei seguenti premi:
Premio Miglior Cortometraggio 2026
Premio Miglior Attrice/attore
Premio Miglior Regia
La giuria si riserva di assegnare eventuali menzioni speciali.
MODALITA’ D’ISCRIZIONE AL FESTIVAL
Per le sezioni competitive, la submission prevede una quota di iscrizione al festival è di € 10,00 per i cortometraggi.

PROIEZIONE FILM SELEZIONATI
Il calendario e gli orari delle proiezioni sono di esclusiva competenza della Direzione del CALTAGIRONE SHORT FILMFEST.
MATERIALE RICHIESTO OPERE SELEZIONATE:
Produzioni o autori dei film selezionati saranno contattati dalla segreteria organizzativa del Festival e dovranno inviare quanto prima i materiali richiesti al momento della comunicazione della selezione (foto di scena, testi e lista dialoghi in italiano e in inglese, poster, trailer, clip ecc.)
Il materiale richiesto verrà messo a disposizione del festival e potrà essere usato per tutte le forme di promozione e comunicazione inerenti al festival.
Il supporto per la proiezione deve essere necessariamente in formato MP4. I supporti inviati in formato NTSC non verranno proiettati causa incompatibilità tecniche.

- Competition for short films shot in Sicily and by Sicilian directors
Applications must be submitted no later than 11.59 pm on 5 july 2026 with the FilmFreeway website.
The selection takes place by the discretion of the artistic direction and the selection committee of the Festival. The maximum duration required is 18 minutes.
COMPETITIVE SHORT FILMS SECTION
International short films (Italian and foreign) completed after 1 January 2025 are admitted to the competition. The selection of the films in competition takes place by the discretion and final judgment of the artistic direction and the selection committee of the Festival. Non-Italian shorts must arrive with subtitles in English or Spanish. The maximum duration required is 20 minutes.
The competition is divided into these sections:
Short films, Italian and foreign, of all genres with a maximum duration of 20 minutes;
Short films that promote the territory of Sicily, or made by Sicilian directors with a maximum duration of 2 minutes.
The Festival Management will appoint a jury composed of experts in the film sector to award the following prizes:
Best Short Film Award 2026
Best Actress/Actor Award
Best Director Award
The jury reserves the right to award any special mentions.
HOW TO REGISTER TO THE FESTIVAL
For the competitive sections, the submission involves a festival registration fee of €10.00 for short films.

Foreign works must arrive with subtitles in Italian
Streaming movie link with password
The link to watch the film in streaming must be valid until the end of the festival.
SCREENING OF SELECTED FILMS
The calendar and times of the screenings are the exclusive responsibility of the Management of the CALTAGIRONE SHORT FILMFEST.
REQUIRED MATERIAL SELECTED WORKS:
Productions or authors of the selected films will be contacted by the organizational secretariat of the Festival and must send as soon as possible the materials requested when communicating the selection (scene photos, texts and dialogue list in Italian and English, posters, trailers, clips, etc.)
The requested material will be made available to the festival and can be used for all forms of promotion and communication inherent to the festival.
The projection medium must necessarily be in MP4 format. Media sent in NTSC format will not be projected due to technical incompatibilities.
