COLLIDESCOPE is an Essex based charitable organisation that promotes diversity, inclusion and creativity from LGBTQ+ and other minority communities.

In September 2025 we will hold our first short film festival celebrating some amazing film making talents all connected to Essex. Our aim is to mostly platform short films by and with themes from women, queer, neurodiverse, disabled and global majority individuals.

The first COLLIDESCOPE Film Festival event will be held at The Dragonfly Lounge in the heart of Colchester, Essex - dragonflylounge.co.uk - The festival will include film screenings, live Q&A's, award ceremony and afterparty.

Awards & Prizes

There will be two award winners at the event. One choosen by our judges and one by our audience. Both film project will recieve a cash prize of £100. All winners will be annouced at the event.

Rules & Terms

As we are an Essex based film festival we require all our submissions have some connection to Essex. This can be cast, crew and/or location or another reason. Please state your connection to Essex when you submit. If you are unsure then please do message us before you submit to check as submission fees are non refundable.
